The only thing more Mexican than Tequila is the Mariachi. It goes beyond music and is the sum of the cultural revolution expressed through a group of musicians dressed in beautiful costumes – the “charro”. Mariachi encompasses the essence of Mexico and its people and is something cultural, spiritual and traditional that's unique to this country.
The Mariachi originated in the state of Jalisco, Mexico and the songs speak about machismo, love, betrayal, death, politics, revolutionary heroes and even animals. There are many theories about the origins of the name “Mariachi”, however the truth is unknown, but it is a name that is associated with a great deal of prestige not only in Mexico but around the world. The most prized of the Mariachis in the early part of the twentieth century and still today are those from the state of Jalisco, particularly from Guadalajara, tecatitlan and Cocula.

Mariachi Mexteca have performed at countless venues over the years and have well established themselves as a true Mexican Mariachi band in the UK. Amongst those performances many have included professional video productions ranging from documentaries to commercials to name a few.
